Day 1
Pick up in the airport and transfer to Ojo de Agua Hotel in Puerto
Morelos.
Dinner in the hotel and explanation of activities, security
measurements and important information.
Day 2
7:30 Breakfast in the hotel.
8:30 Departure to the only crocodile farm in the area. Practical
explanation of crocodiles, deers, spider monkeys, iguanas, snakes and some other animals
of the region.
11:00 Snorkel in the amazing coral reef of Puerto Morelos doing a
census either on coral reef fish, or corals, or plants, or crustaceans, etc.
13:00 Lunch in the hotel.
16:00 Visit the botanical garden where the local Biologist Silvia Diaz
will explain about the important trees and plants of the Maya jungle, including a very
interesting section on medicinal plants of the Maya.
19:00 Dinner in Posada Amor restaurant.
Day 3.
8:00 Breakfast in the hotel.
10:00 Visit the Xaman Ha aviary where we can see the principal birds of
the Yucatan peninsula including the flamingo, toucan, egrets, parrots, etc.. Explanation
on their life cycle will be given.
12:00 Snorkel in the blue Cenote. Explanation on the underground rivers
and origin of the Yucatan peninsula.
13:30 Lunch in Don Cafeto restaurant in Tulum.
16:00 Visit Tulum archeological site. Explanation of the site by a
local guide.
18:00 Visit the Ecological center of Akumal where we will receive a
presentation on the different research and protection projects they do, specially the
marine turtle project and coral reef project.
20:00 Night trekking in seacrh of marine turtles laying eggs in the
beach ( May - Sept. ).
Day 4.
7:00 Breakfast in the hotel and presentation on the Sian ka ´an
biosphere reserve ( projects, research, protection, etc, ).
10:00 Arrival and check inn San Juan Ranch, an exclusive ranch inside
Sian ka ´an reserve.
11:00 Snorkel in the unique and virgin coral reefs of the reserve. We
will do census, identification on corals, coral reef fish, plants, etc.. Comparison with
the reef of Puerto Morelos.
13:00 Lunch in the Ranch.
16:00 Boat trip through the wetlands of the Sian ka ´an biosphere
reserve where we will do identification and census on birds.
19:00 Dinner in the Ranch.
22:00 Fireplace in the beach to see stars or night walk in search of
marine turtles laying eggs ( May - Sept. )
Day 5.
6:00 Kayak in the wetlands and channels of the Sian ka ´an biosphere
reserve doing bird identification.
8:00 Breakfast in the San Juan Ranch.
9:00 Beach clean up. Explanation on beach pollution, plastics, etc.
11:00 Snorkel in the unspoiled reefs of the reserve. Identification,
census of corals, fish, plants, etc.
13:00 Lunch in Tulum.
15:00 Visit Coba archeological site. Explanation of the site.
18:00 Departure to Valladolid.
19:00 Arrival and check inn Hotel Maria de la Luz in Valladolid.
19:30 Dinner in the hotel and presentation on Yum balam biosphere
reserve.
Day 6
7:30 Brekfast in the hotel.
8:30 Departure to Holbox island.
11:30 Arrival and bird and marine mammals identification ( flamingos,
dolphins, egrets, herons, cormorans, pelicans, etc, )
13:30 Lunch in Villas Delfines hotel.
15:30 Dolphin search in the Yalahau lagoon.
17:30 Back to the hotel.
19:00 Dinner in the hotel.
Day 7.
7:00 Breakfast in the hotel.
8:00 Visit the most famous archeological site of the ancient Maya when
it is not yet crowded "Chichen Itza ". Explanation of the site by a local guide.
11:00 Visit Dzitnup cenote. Explianation and comparison of the
underground rivers of the Yucatan peninsula.
13:00 Lunch in Plaza Maya restaurant in Valladolid.
14:30 Departure to El Eden ecological reserve.
18:00 Arrival to the reserve. Explanation on the different research,
protection and conservation projects been done in the reserve.
19:00 Dinner in the reserve.
21:00 Night trekking to the jungle to discover the sounds and animals
in the dark. Samples taken depending on the projects been conducted in that moment.
Day 8
8:00 Breakfast in the reserve.
9:00 Trekking through the savanna and jungle of the reserve to a cenote
where wild crocodiles live and nest. Explanation on crocodiles. In the way bird
identification, footprints, etc.
13:00 Box lunch in the cenote.
17:00 Analysis of all the information gathered during the ecotour.
19:00 Dinner in the reserve and presentation of each team work.
Day 9
Breakfast in the reserve and departure to the airport depending on
flights.

The Eco educational tour includes:
- AC transportation.
- Hotels ( Ojo de Agua (2), Rancho San Juan (2), Maria de la Luz (2),
El Eden (2).
- Biologist guide.
- All the meals ( 3 / day ), except breakfast first day and dinner last
day.
- Entrance fees.
- Boats, kayaks, snorkel equipment.
- Presentations and explanations by different researchers.
For all the tours we recommend bringing comfortable clothes and shoes,
insect repellent, hat, swimsuit, long sleeve cotton shirt, long cotton pants, impermeable
jacket, hygienic personal stuff and sun blocker.
We want to remind that 5 % of the tourist fee is donated for projects
to PROTECT THE MAYAN NATURE.
